WHO IS TAYLOR JAY?

Director (She/Her)

Taylor Jay is a storyteller guided by intention, community, and heart. With a Master’s degree in Creative Writing and a voice shaped by her Southern, Black, and queer roots, she creates work that centers marginalized narratives with care and cinematic grace. Whether writing a script or shaping a visual composition, Taylor’s work is grounded in truth, representation, and legacy.

As a Director of Photography, she brings a sharp visual style and emotional depth to every project using light, tone, and framing to elevate story. Her eye for mood and movement allows her to shape moments that feel both intimate and expansive.

Taylor’s storytelling spans mediums. Her debut series, So’Flo the Series, a Black LGBTQ+ dramedy set in South Florida—was officially selected to screen at the 2025 Urban Film Festival, taking place August 29–31. She also authored The Love Below, a poetry memoir released in 2020 that explores love through the lenses of Lust, Pain, and Healing. The book is available on Amazon.

In 2024, Taylor was featured in Voyage Miami Magazine’s Local Stories series for her growing impact as a creative force in Miami’s arts and media community.

Whether behind the lens or at the page, Taylor Jay is committed to telling bold, necessary stories that honor lived experience, uplift underrepresented voices, and keep culture at the center.
